Disrespected again: NFL analyst snubs Jalen Hurts in QB rankings

ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky ranked the NFL’s top 10 quarterbacks based on individual traits, and there was little-to-no love for the Eagles’ Jalen Hurts.

— Dan Orlovsky (@danorlovsky7) August 12, 2024Orlovsky ranked the QBs in arm strength, ball placement, mechanics, decision-making, pocket presence, rushing ability and second-reaction creativity. Hurts only cracked two of those seven lists, placing fourth in rushing and eighth in creativity.

What’s notable is not so much the arguable snubs, but some of the players Hurts was ranked behind. Rushing ability went 1-2 with Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. Not much to argue with there. But ranked third, ahead of Hurts, was Anthony Richardson of the Colts — the rookie last year who played in only four games due to injury.

Dan Orlovsky ranked Top 10 QBs on: Arm Strength, Ball Placement, Mechanics, Decision Making, Pocket Presence, Rushing Ability, Second Reaction. For Jalen Hurts:

Mechanics: Not Ranked
Decision Making: Not Ranked
Pocket Presence:…

Hey, at least ESPN has been consistent. Jeremy Fowler released his annual positional rankings back in July, and Hurts was left outside of the top 10 in that article, too. Chalk it up as more fuel for the fire as the 2024 regular season approaches.
