Crystal Palace consider revisiting move for Eddie Nketiah following collapse of Nottingham Forest move

Crystal Palace are considering revisiting their interest in Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, talkSPORT understands.

The Arsenal forward is a target for the Eagles as they look to bolster their attacking ranks for the Premier League season.

It’s understood that the Tricky Trees would prefer to sign Feyenoord front-man Santiago Gimenez.

Marseille had also been in discussions with a move for the player, but that deal also fell through.

Crystal Palace’s need for reinforcement comes after a summer in which they have lost a number of key players.

Joachim Andersen, Jordan Ayew and Michael Olise have all left Selhurst Park this summer, meaning that Oliver Glasner is keen to add quality to his ranks.

It was revealed by talkSPORT’s Chief Football Correspondent Alex Crook back in June that Arsenal were looking for a fee of £50million.

But they have since been forced to lower their demands, with the Gunners now seeking a fee in the region of £30m-£35m.

But despite Nketiah’s experience and quality, former Crystal Palace owner Jordan was shocked with the valuation.

“Ultimately if you want to get £40million, you’re better off asking for £50million,” he said. “But is he worth £50million? Pfft, you’ve got to be joking haven’t you?

Nketiah has scored 38 goals in 168 games for Arsenal after coming through their academy.

He’s also won one cap for England, as well as being the all-time record goalscorer for the under-21s.

Simon Jordan is left stunned by Arsenal’s £50 million price tag for Eddie Nketiah and claims he would be ‘lucky’ to be worth £30 million
