Bryan Danielson Isn’t Done Yet and Biggest Takeaways from AEW All in 2024 Results0 of 8

Sunday night, the men and women of All Elite Wrestling returned to London for the second year in a row for the All In pay-per-view.

While AEW has never tried to define one PPV as its equivalent to WrestleMania, may would argue All In is the company’s biggest show of the year due to taking place in a stadium.

Last year’s event broke attendance records for AEW and this year saw another packed crowd fill Wembley Stadium for over a dozen matches across several hours.

The two-hour pre-show featured a big return and some solid action mixed with interviews and video packages, but the main card is when all of the big developments took place.

We saw titles change hands, bitter rivalries come to a head, and a few surprises. Let’s look at some of the biggest takeaways from Sunday’s All In PPV.

Results from London1 of 8

Here is the full rundown of results from All In:

Tommy Billington, Rocky Romero, Kip Sabian, Kyle Fletcher, Action Andretti, Lio Rush and Top Flight won a 16-man tag matchWillow Nightingale and Tomohiro Ishii defeated Kris Statlander and Stokely HathawayThe Von Erichs, Dustin Rhodes, Sammy Guevara and Katsuyori Shibata won a 10-man tag matchPac and Blackpool Combat Club defeated The Patriarchy, Bang Bang Gang and House of Black to win the Trios ChampionshipsMariah May defeated Toni Storm to win the Women’s World ChampionshipHook defeated Chris Jericho to win the FTW ChampionshipThe Young Bucks defeated FTR and The AcclaimedChristian Cage won the Casino GauntletWill Ospreay defeated MJF to win the American ChampionshipMercedes Moné defeated Britt BakerJack Perry defeated Darby AllinBryan Danielson defeated Swerve Strickland to win the World ChampionshipChampions Were Having a Bad Night in London2 of 8

Most of the matches on the main card of All In were for championships, and the first few matches made it clear that no champions were safe.

The PPV opened with Pac and BCC winning the trios titles followed by May defeating Storm for the Women’s World Championship. The third bout saw Hook reclaim the FTW title from Jericho.

The Young Bucks broke the streak by retaining the Tag Team Championships, but it was still shocking to see three title bouts in a row end with new champions.

It set the tone that anything can happen and nobody is safe from losing their belt. PPVs can often feel predictable, especially when AEW favors long reigns, so it was great to go into the rest of the show with a feeling of unpredictability.

A bit later, MJF lost the American Championship to Ospreay thanks to a distraction by Daniel Garcia.

Tony Khan Wanted to Put as Many People on the Card as Possible3 of 8

All In.AEW

All In was already a stacked show heading into Sunday, but the late addition of a 16-man tag match illustrated how Tony Khan wanted to get as many people on the show as possible.

If these talents were already in England, then finding a way to use them was smart, even if it was in a throwaway bout on Zero Hour with more moving parts than a Swiss watch.

The assortment of talent was truly random. You had people who have been on TV regularly teaming with people we’re lucky to see once a month. It was especially nice to see Kip Sabian get such a warm welcome.

Even if the gigantic tag match didn’t leave a lasting impression compared to the rest of the card, seeing so many people at all levels being featured on the biggest AEW show of the year was great.

With a 10-man tag match and 12 men in the Casino Gauntlet, AEW packed 38 wrestlers into three matches. In total, 72 people performed at All In with even more participating in ringside roles like Big Bill and Bryan Keith. That is an impressive statistic.

Jamie Hayter and Daniel Garcia Are Back and out for Revenge4 of 8

The pre-show for All In saw Saraya and her entire family storm the ring so she could rant about not even being on the card a year after winning the title at the same show.

This led to Jamie Hayter making her highly anticipated return to confront the woman who claimed to be England’s best women’s wrestler.

The former women’s world champions brawled after Hayter took out the entire Knight family. Saraya was sent packing and the returning star celebrated with an elated crowd.

After being gone for more than a year while recovering from an injury, it was awesome to see Hayter back and looking re-energized. The announcers made it clear she is looking to get revenge on everyone who was responsible for putting her on the shelf, so she already has a storyline set up.

The women’s division in AEW has made some good strides over the past year, so Hayter is going to feel like a breath of fresh air. It’s going to be interesting to see how she and Baker interact as babyfaces.

During MJF vs. Ospreay, Garcia made a surprising return and cost the champion his title, giving Ospreay a big win in Wembley and setting Garcia vs. MJF in motion.

With All Out just a couple of weeks away on September 7, it’s quite possible they will lock horns at that PPV after spending a couple of shows talking trash and sneak-attacking each other.

Hayter and Garcia are both valuable talents who are on course to be two of the most popular stars on the roster.

Pac Got His Wembley Moment5 of 8

Pac was hoping to have a special moment in front of his fellow Englishmen at Wembley Stadium, and he got it Sunday night.

Teaming up with Castagnoli and Yuta, The Bastard was able to win the Trios Championships in a ladder match with The Patriarchy, House of Black and Bang Bang Gang.

Like all Ladder matches, this one was chaotic and saw all 12 competitors take some big risks, but Pac was able to pull down one of the belts to claim victory for his team, much to the delight of the London crowd.

Pac and Blackpool Combat Club have had their differences and were a bit of a wildcard addition to this PPV, so this may not be a cohesive unit once they have to defend the belts.

The Casino Gauntlet Was Booked for Maximum Pops6 of 8

The Casino Gauntlet match was packed with surprises and had the crowd cheering left and right. Here is a quick list of highlights:

Nigel McGuinness returned to the ring.Zack Sabre Jr participated.Jeff Jarrett got a huge pop.Ricochet made his AEW debut.Christian entered the match despite having already been beaten up in a Ladder match. He was shocked to see Luchassaurus join the match and help him win.The nature of this match meant we had no idea how many competitors we would see because it could end at any time, so that made it one of the most unpredictable contests of the night.

A lot of people probably predicted Adam Page or Ricochet to win, so Cage was a genuinely surprising decision. He will make a good challenger for the world title because he brings credibility.

This whole match was planned out well and had the crowd on its feet, so it’s safe to say it was a success.

Jack Perry Is Just as Demented as Darby Allin, but Sting Saved the Day7 of 8

Perry successfully retained his TNT title over Allin in a brutal Coffin match, but beating his rival wasn’t enough.

The Young Bucks brought a gas can down to the ring and it looked like they would set the coffin ablaze, but Allin had a guardian angel.

Sting made his return to AEW for the first time since he retired at Revolution in March. He used his trademark bat to dispatch the Jacksons and Perry before freeing his former teammate from the coffin.

Even though Perry won, Allin reuniting with Sting is what fans will remember from this match.

Bryan Danielson Isn’t Done Yet8 of 8

Danielson came into All In not only wanting to win his first AEW world title, but he was hoping he wouldn’t be forced to retire.

During the leadup to his match with Strickland, The American Dragon added the stipulation that if he lost, he would retire from in-ring competition.

Swerve has been a vicious champion who has proved time and time again that he will do whatever it takes to remain at the top, so he couldn’t have cared less that he may be responsible for retiring one of the greatest of all time. In fact, he saw it as another accolade.

With The Final Countdown playing him to the ring, Danielson looked focused and relaxed as his wife, Brie Garcia, and their kids watched from the front row.

Strickland did not hold back and focused on Danielson’s weakened neck. The challenger was busted open and bleeding profusely at the halfway point. Members of the medical team were chased off by Swerve when trying to examine Danielson’s neck.

Page appeared at ringside and attacked Prince Nana before security dragged him away. Danielson and Strickland left everything in the ring and hit several finishers, but in the end, The American Dragon made Swerve tap out to become the new world champion.

The London crowd erupted as his hand was raised by the referee. All In ended on a high note with Danielson’s family celebrating with him as confetti rained from the ceiling.
