Snl24 | OFFICIAL: What one-year deal means for Blom at Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi with returning midfielder Njabulo Blom, who has been signed on a season-long loan deal from St. Louis City

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signing of two players, including the return of a former midfielder of theirs. KickOff explains how the latter’s deal at Naturena has been structured.

In a worst-kept secret, Chiefs announced the acquisition of left-back Bradley Cross from Golden Arrows on a four-year contract.

“Bradley’s signing aligns with our strategic vision of continuing to strengthen our team and get ready compete when the season starts,” Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr, told the club’s official website.

“We are confident that his addition will bring a new level of energy, international experience and skill to our squad. We look forward to seeing him in action and contributing to our success.”

Chiefs also announced they have re-signed Njabulo Blom from Major League Soccer side St. Louis City on a one-year loan deal.

There have been rumours that St. Louis City were looking for suitors for the Bafana Bafana midfielder and Amakhosi have pounced on the opportunity.

The 24-year-old has a contract with the USA-based side until December this year, but they have a two-year option on his current deal.

It remains to be seen if the Glamour Boys would purchase him outright, if City have already exercised their two-year option.

“We are excited to welcome Njabulo back to the team. His experience in the MLS and his familiarity with our Club ethos make him a valuable addition to our squad. We look forward to seeing his impact on the field because we know how valuable he is to our game model,” said Motaung Jr on the return of ‘Stoppa’.

The Amakhosi academy graduate is also looking forward to his return.

“I am delighted to be back at Kaizer Chiefs, a Club that holds a special place in my heart,” Blom said.

“I look forward to working with the team and contributing to our success under Coach Nasreddine Nabi. The support from the fans has always motivated me, and I can’t wait to play in front of the Khosi nation again,” he added.
