With limited game time and tight competition at the club, Chippa United and Golden Arrows are believed to have inquired about an Orlando Pirates defender, according to insiders privy to information.
The player in question is Bucs defender Sandile Mthethwa who could be a loan option this spring.

Siya sources have indicated that both clubs would like to have Mthethwa on loan for the rest of this coming season, with an option to make the move permanent if Pirates allow it.
Insiders added that Chippa United, where he once had a loan stint, are expected to be at the forefront to land his signature as things stand at the moment.
“Yes, both teams have shown interest in the player. They want him on loan for now as they are preparing for the season which is just around the corner. But you know, he is a Pirates player and they are the ones to decide what is the next step for him. They are playing in almost all the competitions this season and they need a solid team for good competition but it seems he is one who could be loaned out right now,” the Siya source stated.
A second insider stated that Mthethwa is down in the pecking order, with Thabiso Sesane having finished last season on a high and started the current campaign in good form.
“What could make it easy for him to go on loan is to give him more of a chance for game time. For now, you see even Nkosinathi Sibisi is sitting on the bench and Thapelo Xoki is injured. So if he returns it will be even more difficult for Sandile (Mthethwa) to get game time and with Arrows and Chippa interested in him he would go on loan this season. I think Chippa United stand a better chance as he has been there before,” the second source told the Siya crew.
Soccer Laduma contacted his agent Basia Michaels and Pirates for comment, but received no response at the time of publishing this story.
