Man United and Spurs interested in defender
While the transfer window has now shut for clubs in England, teams are still able to sign free agents.
All 20 Premier League clubs signed at least one new player during this summer’s transfer window, although some clubs were busier than others.
The likes of Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albion were among the busiest English top flight clubs this summer, while Liverpool didn’t make any signings until the final week of the window.
Now, though, it appears that two of the Premier League’s busiest clubs could be chasing a free agent.
As per Football Insider, both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are interested in midfielder Yusuf Yazici.
The Turkish player is currently without a club after leaving French side Lille when his contract expired earlier this summer, but the report claims that both the Red Devils and the Lilywhites have been offered the chance to sign him.
Yaziki played for Turkey at the Euros earlier this summer
Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also both believed to be interested in the player, who scored 29 times and provided 15 assists in 135 games for Lille.
He hasn’t yet found a new club, though, and Premier League clubs are therefore monitoring his situation.
Yazici, 27, is a 45-time Turkey international and represented his country at the European Championships in Germany earlier this summer.
Despite strong interest from several clubs in the Premier League, the report suggests that Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray are leading the race to land the free agent.
He is able to play in a number of positions – including on either flank – but he primarily operates as an attacking midfielder.
