Tyrese Gibson has reportedly been arrested in Atlanta, Georgia.

More Details On Tyreseās Arrest
According to TMZ, Tyrese appeared in Fulton County court on Monday, September 9. His appearance was reportedly related to an ongoing child support battle with his ex-wife, Samantha Lee. To note, the pair share a 5-year-old daughter named Soraya.
Per the outlet, Tyrese reportedly did not comply with Judge Kevin Farmerās order that he pay Lee $10,000 a month in child support. Furthermore, Farmer reportedly issued the order in April 2023.
During the hearing, Judge Farmer reportedly held Tyrese in contempt of court. Ultimately, the singer was placed in handcuffs and taken into custody.
To note, on Sunday, September 8, Tyrese shared a message, speculating that he would likely be placed in cuffs during his court appearance.
āAt 9am in the morning in Atlanta I might be arrested in court,ā he wrote. āā¦JUDGES AND LAWYERS DEMANDED that I come to court and cancel my press and media for my 1992 movie and my new Beautiful Pain album interviewsā¦ We are APPEALING ALL OF HIS RULINGS AND ALREADY HAVE TRIED TO GET THIS JUDGE THROWN OFF THE BENCH TWICEā¦ā
Furthermore, the singer alleged that the judge previously rejected his appeal and illegally ordered him to pay Lee over $10,000 in child support ābecause he felt like it.ā Tyrese even concluded his message by alleging that Judge Farmers āhatesā his āguts.ā

According to the outlet, Tyrese will reportedly be released from custody if he pays $73,000. The amount reportedly includes a $7,500 charge to satisfy Leeās attorney fees.
At this time, it appears Tyrese may still be in custody, as his official Instagram account appears to be inactive. However, social media users have weighed in on his arrest in The Shade Roomās comment section.

The Singer Recently Appeared On āStepping Into The Shade Roomā
On Friday, September 6, a new episode of āStepping Into The Shade Roomā was released. Amid the hour-long interview, Tyrese spoke about his child support payments to Lee, alleging that she has been seeking at least $20,000 a month from him.
āWhat I realized is, thereās no child on any level that needs $20,000 in Atlanta,ā Tyrese told host Thembi. āThis is not even a ātop 35 most expensive city to live in.’ā
Tyrese went on to allege that Lee earns around $160,000 annually.
āAnd I do well myself,ā he explained. āIf you get into the actual needs of the child, our daughter will never be without. So, if youāre going to leave me, and you and your lawyers are now trying to take my life with you ā thereās no alimony, we had a prenup. Iām confused as [sic]. We had a baby and weāre sharing this baby so letās make sure this baby is okay.ā
