Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito views the CAF ban on Ghanaā€™s Baba Yara Stadium as a blessing in disguise.

According to him, it will prompt the countryā€™s football authorities to address long-standing issues with the pitch and other facilities.

The ban, due to ā€œpersistent issuesā€ with the pitch, means Ghana will likely play upcoming AFCON qualifiers away from home, with the GFA tasked with finding an alternative venue outside Ghana.

Zito, who also coaches the national U19 team, emphasizes the impact of subpar pitches on player performance, noting that Ghanaian players, accustomed to top-quality pitches abroad, feel uncomfortable playing at home due to fear of injury.

He cites the Angola match, where a poor pitch contributed to a costly mistake. Zito welcomes the CAF ban, hoping it will drive much-needed improvements in Ghanaā€™s football infrastructure.
