Terence Crawford is seemingly ready to take on the super middleweight champion.

After Canelo Álvarez beat Edgar Berlanga on Saturday to defend his WBC, WBO and WBA super middleweight world titles, Crawford posted on social media indicating he wants a chance to fight Álvarez.

“Put me in the game coach!” Crawford posted to X after the fight.

Álvarez won against Berlanga in a unanimous decision with scorecards of 117-110, 118-109 and 118-109, continuing his reign of dominance in the division. He’s won five straight fights and improved to 62-2-2 with the win on Saturday.

But he could have a strong contender in Crawford.

The 36-year-old boasts a perfect 41-0 record, most recently beating Israil Madrimov in a unanimous decision fight in August to claim the WBA and vacant WBO interim light middleweight titles.

A fight between the two stars is far from put in place, but Crawford at least has the backing of Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority.

“I will give Canelo what I think is a fair price,” Alalshikh said after Crawford’s win last month, per ESPN’s Mike Coppinger. “If he accepts it, he deals directly with me to finish the deal. I don’t want anyone in the middle. I guaranteed Crawford a big fight, I want Canelo for Crawford and Crawford wants Canelo. But if Canelo is crazy [with his financial demands] I will still guarantee Crawford any fight he wants.”

Crawford is nearing the end of his boxing career, but he would like to end his career with a win over one of the best in Álvarez. Whether Álvarez will give him that fight is to be determined.
