2024 college football Week 5 picks against the spread, odds, lines, trends: Vegas expert reveals picks

The Week 5 college football schedule brings perhaps the most-anticipated matchup of the year as No. 2 Georgia goes to No. 4 Alabama. These programs have accounted for six of the past 10 championships in college football and both are favorites to make the College Football Playoff field again in 2024. The latest Week 5 college football odds via SportsLine consensus list the Bulldogs as 2-point road favorites.

There are three other ranked matchups on the slate as No. 20 Oklahoma State faces No. 23 Kansas State (-6), No. 15 Louisville battles No. 16 Notre Dame (-5) and No. 19 Illinois takes on No. 9 Penn State (-17.5). Before locking in any Week 5 college football picks on those games or others, be sure to see the college football betting guide from legendary Vegas handicapper Bruce Marshall.

Now, using his Tech Corner technique that evaluates all the trends and the latest college football odds, Marshall has turned his attention to college football betting for Week 5 and revealed picks for each matchup. Head here to see every pick.

Top college football predictions for Week 5One of the top college football picks Marshall is recommending for Week 5: He’s backing No. 12 Michigan to cover as a 9.5-point favorite against Minnesota in the battle for the Little Brown Jug at noon ET on Saturday.

Michigan appears to be fairly one-dimensional on offense this year, but the run game and the defense look elite, and that was enough to upset USC in Ann Arbor in Week 4. Marshall says the trends point to Michigan handling the single-digit spread at home.

“The Golden Gophers were only 1-4 ATS as visitors last season and 1-4 as underdogs, and now are 1-5-1 as underdogs when adding early 2024 results,” Marshall told SportsLine. “The Wolverines finally got a cover last week vs. USC after 0-3 spread break from gate for Sherrone Moore.” See which other picks to make here.
