Falcons’ Raheem Morris Declines to Discuss No-Call vs. Chiefs: ‘I Like My Money’

Following the Atlanta Falcons’ 22-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, head coach Raheem Morris wasn’t interested in discussing the controversial no-call that had fans buzzing.

When asked about the referees not calling defensive pass interference on a fourth-down pass from Kirk Cousins to Kyle Pitts, Morris told reporters, “I like my money. I’m smart enough to be aware not to dunk on officials. They made the call, or didn’t make the call, it is what it is. We had a chance to win on the last play.”

Chiefs safety Bryan Cook appeared to make contact with Pitts before Cousins’ pass arrived, but the referees chose not to call a penalty. The decision comes a week after Kansas City benefitted from a defensive pass interference penalty in its one-point win against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Still, Atlanta had another chance to earn the win after forcing Kansas City into a three-and-out. Unfortunately for the Falcons, they were unable to convert on fourth-and-inches from the Chiefs 13-yard line, resulting in a turnover on downs that sealed the game.

After falling to 1-2, Morris will try to get the Falcons back on track when they meet the New Orleans Saints in an NFC South matchup in Week 4.
