RT Trent Brown suffered a torn patellar tendon in his right knee and will undergo season-ending surgery, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday, per a source. Rapoport adds that Brown is expected to make a full recovery. Brown suffered the injury during Monday night’s loss to the Commanders and was carted off the field. First-round rookie Amarius Mims entered the game for Brown and will be the presumed starter going forward.

The NFL on Monday announced James’ suspension, citing “repeated violations of playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players.”

QB Skylar Thompson is considered day to day with a rib injury and the next 48 hours will determine his availability for Week 4, head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters on Tuesday. LT Terron Armstead is in the concussion protocol, per McDanielCB Kendall Fuller is in the concussion protocol, per McDaniel.
