Konami Unveils Huge Metal Gear Solid Collection Update With Improved Resolutions

Out now on PC, console(?) soon

Image: KonamiKonami has detailed a pretty huge Metal Gear Solid Master Collection update this week, with brand-new resolution options being a major addition to the bundle here in version 2.0.0.

Now, at this stage, patch 2.0.0 for this MGS collection has only launched on PC via Steam, with the developer saying that the update will be announced for other platforms “at a later date”. We’d assume this means the same resolution updates are inbound for Xbox when the time is right, but Konami hasn’t been that specific in its initial patch post.

The team has been specific when it comes to the Steam release notes, however. We’ve got new high-res display options in the game’s “Adjusted Mode” for both MGS2 and MGS3 – and we’ll show some examples of how they both look at 4K down below, including comparisons to the original resolutions.

There are new controller and mouse & keyboard settings tucked into this update too, which will hopefully be applicable to the console update when it arrives as well. Upon reviewing this collection last year, we thought it felt a bit barebones, but with updates like this and others that have already arrived on Xbox, Konami is putting the work in to steadily improve Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 for all players.

Who’s excited for this when it (hopefully) comes to Xbox in the near future? Tell us down below!
