Victor Moses opens Luton goalscoring account in 3-1 loss to Plymouth Argyle

Nigeria and Luton Town wing-back, Victor Moses, opened his goal-scoring account for the club in their 3-1 loss to Plymouth Argyle in the EFL Championships, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 33-year-old started on the bench for the third game running since joining Rob Edwards’ side on a free from Spartak Moscow.

Wayne Rooney’s side opened the scoring inside eight minutes at Home Park with a well-placed finish from Rami Al-Hajj after some brilliant exchange of passes inside the Luton Town box.

An injury to Mads Andersen in the 58th minute saw Victor Moses replace the Danish centre-back as Luton Town looked to shore up their attack.

Luton Town had three chances to level the score at the start of the second half but Elijah Adebayo was denied by three stunning saves from Daniel Grimshaw.

Plymouth doubled their lead in the 69th minute, courtesy of a brilliant finish from Ibrahim Cissoko. The Dutch left-winger beat his man before sending his left-footed shot into Thomas Kaminski’s goal.

Luton pulled one back in the 71st minute. A brilliant cross from Alfie Doughty found Moses at the back post. The Nigerian cooled the ball with his chest before slotting the ball into the bottom corner with his left foot as the away side charged on to equalize.

Moses turned provider for Luton a few minutes later, whipping a cross into the box to be tapped home by Joe Taylor, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Plymouth wrapped the points up in the bag in the 93rd minute, with Cissoko grabbing his second of the game. The 21-year-old showed quick feet again, beating two men, before sending the ball home to seal his side’s second win of the season.
