Arch Manning live stats: Texas vs. Miss. State updates, results, highlights from 2024 college football game
The Manning brothers’ legacy is in good hands.
Arch Manning, their nephew, made his first collegiate start at the helm of the No. 1 Longhorns last Saturday, and he did not disappoint. In a 51-3 thumping of UL Monroe at home, he completed 15-of-29 passes for 258 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.Â
While he didn’t have a chance to show off his impressive speed, only taking one carry for a loss of four, Manning certainly affirmed he was the right choice to replace Quinn Ewers under center. Texas’ starting quarterback went down with an abdominal injury in the team’s third game against UTSA and has yet to fully recover.
Though facing an SEC opponent in Mississippi State means this weekend’s matchup won’t be as easy for Manning, the Longhorns are roughly 38-point favorites for the game in Austin. It’s still up to him, however, whether Texas makes that happen or not.
