21-Year-Old Arrested After Two Colorado Middle School Students Reportedly Overdose On “Magic Mushrooms”

Two students from Colorado Middle School were rushed to a hospital after they reportedly ate “magic mushrooms.” The students reportedly purchased the substance from 21-year-old Damian Lee Solano, per PEOPLE.

Details On Middle Schoolers Overdose In Colorado
Authorities reported that four Colorado Middle school kids, aged 12 to 16, allegedly bought mushrooms from Damian Lee Solano.

On (Sept. 24), two middle school students went to the hospital after meeting Solano in a grocery store parking lot, according to PEOPLE.

They later provided law enforcement with a general physical description of the dealer and details about his vehicle.

Shortly after, authorities booked 21-year-old Damian Lee Solano into El Paso County Jail, where he reportedly remains on a $500,000 bond.

Per PEOPLE, Solano faces four felony charges for drug distribution, one for attempted sale, and four misdemeanors for contributing to a minor’s delinquency.

Christine O’ Brien, a spokesperson for District 2 Harrison Schools, confirmed that the two impacted students received treatment and returned to home. The district is helping them transition back to normal life.

“We appreciate the diligence of our education staff, our students, and families who immediately report concerns like these,” O’Brien wrote in an email to The Gazette.

Additional Info About Damian Lee Solano’s Arrest
The parents of one of the students helped detectives recover the mushrooms. Additionally, they reportedly gave cops the student’s phone to contact the dealer.

From there, a detective pretended to be the student and arranged a meeting with Solano for an undercover purchase.

When authorities confronted and detained Damian Solano, he reportedly had about 2 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms.

PEOPLE revealed that Solano will make his first appearance at the El Paso County Courthouse on October 4, as noted in his online court docket.

Furthermore, it has not been confirmed if he currently has a lawyer.
