New Cardinals executive will be promoted after 2025 season
The St. Louis Cardinals recently had their end of the season press conference, where they announced that they will be taking a different approach to building a contending ballclub.
President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak will remain in his role for one more season. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for Cardinals fans who are ready to move on from Mozeliak.
Owner Bill DeWitt Jr. announced that Chaim Bloom will take over for Mozeliak following the 2025 campaign.
While Cardinals fans are ready to move on from Mozeliak as soon as possible, it is important to note that after next season, impactful changes will finally be made.
Bloom will bring a fresh perspective to the Cardinals’ Baseball Operations department and should help set them up for more success in the future following two consecutive postseason misses.
Bloom was hired in January as a consultant and spent the year evaluating the entire Cardinals organization, offering suggestions on where to improve.
Next year, he will oversee the revamping of the minor league system and will hire a new director of player development.
While fans will be disappointed that Mozeliak is staying in power, Bloom is going to take on a larger role and should have a strong influence on key decisions.
While Mozeliak remains in charge, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for Cardinals fans.
We’ll see if he can help the Cardinals get back to where they once were.Â
