It was a seriously impressive statement win for Wardley who went home with the British heavyweight title at the second time of asking.

Images showed after the fight that Clarke was left with a huge dent on his head.

His jaw was facing sideways, and the British heavyweight looked in a bad way during the KO.

Medics rushed the ring and attended to him, giving him the necessary treatment after the concussive blows.

Luckily he clambered to his feet and greeted Wardley after the final bell, to the delight of the boxing public.

Johnny Nelson remarked ringside: “I’ve never seen a knockout like that and a reaction like that on a fighter’s face.

The heavyweight encounter began at a slightly less frantic pace than their opening meeting, with both Wardley and Clarke trying to find their rhythm early on.

But all of a sudden, Wardley opened up and landed a thumping right hand through the guard which stunned Clarke who was out on his feet.

Then Clarke sensationally had no idea where he was and seriously concussed as Wardley detonated another huge series of shots.

‘Big Fraze’ was dropped down to the seat of his boxing shorts, and the referee was looking closely at the former Olympian.
