The insider then “heard sirens” after first responders arrived, though he didn’t pay it much thought until he “came down the elevator” to see the “whole street was full of cop cars.”

Policicchio revealed that the singer had fallen “from the balcony of his room” located on the third floor of the hotel.

The preliminary autopsy report revealed the musician suffered multiple traumas as a result of the fall that led to internal and external bleeding.

An emergency medical doctor further detailed the extent of the damage, sharing that the singer sustained “extremely serious injuries” in the fall including a cranial fracture, which led to his “immediate” death.

“Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life,” Alberto Crescenti said, per the US Sun.

Crescenti did not discuss whether Payne had been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of his death.

Though, the statement received by Page Six notes that alcohol and controlled substances were found in his room following his death.
