Celtics sophomore wanted to improve his game after Summer League performance

‱

For Boston Celtics sophomore forward Jordan Walsh, his Summer League performance was not what he wanted, per Bobby Manning. Walsh received feedback from family and teammates, and instantly felt his performance was unacceptable.

“How I played was unacceptable to me
Transitioning from that to a growth mindset, trying to become a more complete player, a more under control player…trying to slow my game down.”

Walsh was able to improve his game, as seen in his preseason performances. In two of the last three games, Walsh did very well.

In the third to last game in the preseason against the Philadelphia 76ers, he had 11 points, two rebounds, and an assist in 12 minutes. In the penultimate game against the Toronto Raptors, Walsh had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in 30 minutes.

Walsh could be a key contributor off the bench for the Celtics, as he has proven he can bring scoring and rebounding to the table.

To provide these things off the bench would be great, as he can play the two through four to give the starters a break, without worrying the other team will go on a run.

Hopefully, Walsh makes the team and becomes a key bench player similar to Sam Hauser and Payton Pritchard.
