New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers detailed the concussion that he suffered during the team’s 20-15 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4.

“It was scary when I couldn’t remember what happened,” Nabers said, per ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. “I can’t remember the last play I was in, so yeah, it was kind of scary.”

“Last thing I remember was [Jones] throwing me the ball,” he added. “That was it.”

The standout rookie missed New York’s following two games due to the concussion, but he’s been cleared to play in the Giants’ matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Nabers explained that he experienced headaches and some throbbing in his head after the injury, via Raanan. It was the first known concussion that he suffered throughout his playing career.

The 21-year-old told reporters that he recently switched helmets to one that New York’s medical staff said would protect his head better.

Nabers was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and Friday due to the concussion as well as a separate groin injury, but he fully participated in Thursday’s practice. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the receiver doesn’t have an injury designation heading into Sunday’s game and is “good to go” against Philadelphia.

The return of the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft should provide a boost to New York’s offense, as he was off to a hot start through his first four games. He was heavily featured in the Giants’ passing attack, hauling in 35 receptions for 386 yards and three touchdowns.

Although Nabers hasn’t played over the past two weeks, he still ranks No. 14 in receiving yards among all players this season.

The Giants currently sit at 2-4, the worst record in the NFC East. Nabers will attempt to help New York get back on track against an Eagles team that has alternated between wins and losses through their first five games of the year.
