Florence Pugh Had The Most Moving Response To A Fan Whose Mom Died Of Cancer
If you have been anywhere near the internet over the last few weeks then you are probably aware of the fact that Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield have been working the promo circuit for their latest movie, We Live In Time.
On Sunday, Florence marked the movieās release in the United States by sharing a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot, saying that she is incredibly “proud” of the project.
āItās a piece of work and a piece of life that Iām so proud of,ā she said of We Live In Time. āIām so grateful for my own sliding of doors, for which another film moved by two months (the exact amount of time WLIT needed..) and I was able to squeeze this special movie in.ā
āIāve been desperate for a role like this for a few years. A woman who is current and relatable and going through all of the conversations modern women are going through daily. Not only am I constantly proud of the outcome, Iām just so aware of how many incredible masterminds came together to make it and then crew that made it possible,ā Florence went on.Ā
āEvery. Single. Direction. There was this unbelievably insane talent to the left and right,ā she continued. āPerforming Nick Paynes script on John Crowleyās sets has to be one of my highlights of my career. The space John honours and protects for his actors was something Iāll be remembering for a very long time. He is dedicated to the truth, and whatever honesty comes out in between was welcomed, quite literally sometimes with open arms after a take.ā
āThen we have the actors.. Jesus Christ. The actors. Thank you cast. You were phenomenal,ā the star added. āThank you Andrew. Iāll forever be empowered by what we created together and the performer you made me want to be each day.ā
āTo all of the nurses, doctors, pregnancy supervisors, Penny my lovely midwife, to the INCREDIBLE prosthetics team who put on my baby bump for 3-4 hours each day.. you are superstars,ā Florence shared before concluding: āIām being hesitant posting anymore because I know itās not out globally yet and I donāt want to ruin. In the meantime. To those who can watch it, I hope it did all the right things it was suppose to. To those who canāt yetā¦ soz. Love me xāāØāØ
And one fan named Sophie commented on Florenceās post to thank the actor for the āgiftā of her performance in the movie as she shared her heartbreaking personal experience with its tough subject matter.
āit is seriously one of the most beautiful, moving, exceptional movies iāve ever seen. you captured every emotion my mom felt so beautifully. i only have a couple journal entries left of her, so god, florence, your performance is such a gift,ā the emotional comment continues. āI was so little, so sheltered, i didnāt understand what she was experiencing. getting to witness it thru this film – i just canāt express my gratitude enough.ā
āhello Sophie. Florence here. Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to write your heart here in the comments,ā she wrote. āIt goes without saying that I am incredibly sorry for your loss, especially at such a young age. I canāt imagine the ways that it affects oneās life and the processing that inevitably comes for years after.ā

āItās always the wish that my work speaks to someone, somewhere, feeling the same thing,ā she continued. āTo read just how much it meant to you is not only a privilege to hear, but feels like a gift knowing that itās helped in someway. Thank you for sharing your story.ā
āI appreciate your time both in watching the movie and in writing me here,ā Florence added. āTo hear that the work we made matters, genuinely gives me the energy needed to tackle these honest stories again and again. So, thank you. Love FP Xā
And Florenceās kind words have been praised on social media, with screenshots of Sophieās comment and the starās reply circulating on X shortly after they were posted.Ā
The exchange comes shortly after Florenceās costar Andrew went viral for his moving comments about grief during a recent appearance on Sesame Street.

In a clip that was posted to Elmoās social media accounts, Elmo asked Andrew how he was doing, and the 41-year-old actor admitted that he was missing his mom, who died from pancreatic cancer in 2019.
Andrew went on to say that missing his mom is kind of a gift, explaining: āIn a way, it kind of means that you really loved someone when you miss them. And when I miss my mom, I remember all the cuddles I used to get from her, all the hugs I used to get from her. It makes me feel close to her when I miss her in a strange way.ā
“So I’m happy to have all the memories of my mum and the joy she brought me and the joy she brought my brother and my dad and everyone she has ever met ā everyone around her,ā he added. āSo when I miss her, it’s because she made me so happy, so I can celebrate her and I can miss her at the same time.ā
People watching admitted that theyād been reduced to tears by Andrewās poignant words in the clip, which were widely praised online.
