New Children’s Book on Safeguarding Coastal Environment by Hi-Tech Indie Author Richard Bierregaard Set for the Americas’ Biggest Book Fair

Richard Bierregaard , once a mathematics and science teacher, developed new interests and focused on IT, thus gathering the experience and knowledge of new technologies that he could then use to self-publish books with educational content for kids of all ages. One of his more recent childrens books is titled Nalani and the Coast Care Crew, which tells the story of how one motivated 12-year-old brings her whole community together to preserve their beautiful beach.

ReadersMagnet will display Nalani and the Coast Care Crew by Richard Bierregaard at the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2024.

Like many large international publishing conventions, the Guadalajara International Book Fair, also known as Feria Internaconal del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL), invites authors from a wide range of backgrounds and different approaches to creating their work. Many of these have even been experimenting with some of the most innovative content creation tools that could very well shape the future of independent publishing.

One great example is Richard Bierregaard, a self-published childrens book author who has just arranged to exhibit his newest pro-environment story at the 2024 Guadalajara International Book Fair.

Its title is Nalani and the Coast Care Crew, and it follows the tale of its titular 12-year-old girl who finds a calling in cleaning up her local beach. Like many populated beaches around the world, it tends to get littered with plastic and garbage. Nalani is saddened to see how such trash creates all sorts of problems for the many creatures of the sea. Rather than just wishing the problem away, however, she takes action and brings together her friends to start their own coastal cleanup crew. Soon, even the adults catch on, and the kids go as far as to star in their own social media campaign (complete with the hashtag #CoastalCare).

Without a doubt, the topic is close to Richards heart as he had once been a science teacher in secondary schools and an outdoor enthusiast. While he decided to pivot to IT in 1999, he still wished to educate and used his accumulated tech expertise to invest in tools that could help him in his writers journey.

Those visiting the 2024 Guadalajara International Book Fair can find Nalani and the Coast Care Crew displayed at the exhibit of self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at stands GG40 and GG42. The book fair will be held from November 30 to December 8, 2024, at the Expo Guadalajara, Av. Mariano Otero 1499, Colonia Verde Valle, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mxico. ReadersMagnet will be exhibiting from November 30 to December 4, 2024.
