How to Change Specialization in Worshipper of Cthulhu

Since Worshipper of Cthulhu is a game based on cultists who worship Cthulhu, could it be missing the possibility of being able to perform ceremonies and rituals? Of course not! One of the ceremonies that are present in the game is actually very important, as it allows you to change the specialization of your followers.

In this article, therefore, we will explain in detail everything you need to know about it. In this way, in case you need to change the specialization of one of your followers (almost certainly you will have to do it at some point), you will know exactly what to do.

What is Specialization in Worshipper of Cthulhu?
Before telling you how to change the specialization of your followers in Worshipper of Cthulhu, it is appropriate to spend a few words to explain what a specialization is. A specialization is nothing more than something that allows you to understand what a certain person is specialized in regarding the production of materials.

In Worshipper of Cthulhu, in fact, you will have to build a myriad of different buildings that will allow you to obtain materials that you will need, in turn, to build new buildings. Therefore, if you want a certain building to be used to its maximum capacity, you will have to assign to it a person who has as a specialization the production of the same material that the building is able to create.

Example: the Lumbermill produces Planks, so assigning as a worker someone who has as a specialization the creation of Planks, will maximize production.

However, you will not always have followers who have the specialization you will need at a given time. But fear not: the game allows you to change the specialization of any of your followers through a ceremony. Let’s see together in detail what you will have to do.

How to Change Specialization in Worshipper of Cthulhu
In order to change the specialization of one (or more) of your followers, you will first have to build a Ceremony Hall. Without this building, in fact, you will not be able to take part in this ceremony and therefore you will not be able to change specialization. Fortunately, the game itself, at a certain point, will ask you to build a Ceremony Hall as a main objective, so you should not have particular problems in this regard.

Note: in case you do not have enough Favor, you can get more by following what we have explained in this guide.

Once you have enough Favor and have built the Ceremony Hall, you have everything you need to be able to start this ceremony. The last thing to do is to choose the person you want to change specialization and start the ceremony process.

In Worshipper of Cthulhu, there are multiple specializations you can choose from and each of them has its own specific symbol that must be engraved on the follower’s back. So, to avoid making a mistake and getting a specialization that is not the one you want, we recommend that you take a look at the Book of Symbols. In it, there are all the symbols related to each specialization. You just have to copy it on the follower’s back and that’s it.

However, there is another detail to take into account. Once you have engraved the symbol and confirmed your choice, the game will give you the possibility to choose between two different specializations. In fact, each symbol gives you access to two specializations, but you can only choose one of them. So, keep this detail in mind when you decide to change the specialization of your followers in Worshipper of Cthulhu.
