Giants vs. Steelers live score, updates, highlights from NFL ‘Monday Night Football

Week 8 concludes with the Giants and Steelers facing off in Pittsburgh on Monday Night Football. New York has struggled this season and has a 2-5 record, while Pittsburgh is 5-2.

The Giants’ defense is one of the best in the league. However, it doesn’t get the credit it deserves due to the team’s record and inconsistency on offense. New York’s defensive unit allows the sixth-fewest rushing yards per game, creating an interesting matchup against the run-heavy Steelers.

The good news for the Giants is that rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers is healthy for this game. He missed some time with a concussion but is good to go. Quarterback Daniel Jones will also welcome a familiar face back to the backfield, as Devin Singletary is active again. It will be interesting to see how New York deploys Singletary and backup Tyrone Tracy Jr., who played well in Singletary’s absence.

The story of the Steelers’ season has been their search for a quarterback. After Russell Wilson suffered a calf injury in the preseason, it was Justin Fields who led the team through the first six weeks. The backup led the Steelers to a 4-2 record and a tie with the Baltimore Ravens atop the AFC North. It surprised everyone that head coach Mike Tomlin decided to go with Wilson when he was finally healthy in Week 7.

The starter looked rusty early against the New York Jets, but when he settled in, Russ cooked. He and the Steelers picked up the 37-15 win and have now scored at least 32 points on offense in back-to-back weeks. Wilson will get the start against the Giants on Monday night to try and sustain that momentum against another tough defense. With the Baltimore Ravens losing to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, a win would give Pittsburgh sole possession of first place in the AFC North.

Below, we provide a play-by-play as the Giants take on the Steelers on Monday night.
