Fat Joe’s performance before World Series Game 3 roasted by social media: ‘Yankees deserve to be swept’

The Dodgers have Ice Cube. The Yankees have Fat Joe. According to social media, that’s quite the mismatch.

After Ice Cube energized the Dodger Stadium crowd ahead of Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday, the Yankees countered with rapper and longtime fan Fat Joe, who performed “All The Way Up” for the Bronx audience.

By the looks of it, the fans weren’t very into the performance. Fat Joe also spent much of the song trampling the pitcher’s mound, though it’s unclear whether Yankees starter Clarke Schmidt can blame that for Freddie Freeman’s first inning home run.

Here’s a look at Fat Joe’s performance and some of the best reactions from Monday.

— FOX Sports: MLB (@MLBONFOX) October 29, 2024It takes something special for the internet to be united, but the reaction to the Yankees’ Fat Joe performance was near-universal — and it wasn’t what the team was expecting.

With the Dodgers leading the series 2-0, Fat Joe’s performance certainly didn’t give off “Yankees are going to turn this around” vibes.

Fat Joe performance had big “Dodgers in 4” energy

— Céspedes Family BBQ (@CespedesBBQ) October 29, 2024This Fat Joe performance is embarrassing for everyone involved. The Yankees. The city of New York. Fat Joe himself. Dodgers by 70.

— Bronx Bomber Ball (@BronxBomberBall) October 29, 2024Dodgers should automatically be up 3-0 after that performance by Fat Joe

— Doug McKain (@DMAC_LA) October 29, 2024Some mocked the Yankees’ decision to put Fat Joe out there as their response to Ice Cube, considering the number of prominent artists from New York. Jay-Z must not have been available.

Dear New York,

Fat Joe is not Ice Cube.

Sincerely,
The rest of us

— Beeks 🐥 (@beeksvybe) October 29, 2024Dodger Stadium definitely had more juice for Ice Cube than Yankee Stadium did for Fat Joe.

— GoldenKnight (@GoldenKnightGFX) October 29, 2024Fat Joe and Aaron Judge have something in common in this World Series, apparently.

Swing and miss by Fat Joe

— David Vassegh (@THEREAL_DV) October 29, 2024Stay on the infield grass, Joe.

That man Fat Joe on the mound in Tims. I KNOW them groundskeepers off camera having a heart attack. 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/GgziwF3a6T

— Roy Wood Jr- Ex Jedi (@roywoodjr) October 29, 2024Fat Joe stomping a pothole into the mound and then spiking the mic into the infield grass is a bold strategy

— TJ (@TJHitchings) October 29, 2024Fat Joe is one of the Yankees’ most passionate celebrity fans and has a strong relationship with CC Sabathia, but the crowd would probably prefer him in the seats rather than walking all over the mound next time.
