Curt Cignetti discusses challenges of playing on the road at Michigan State
Indiana has been one of, if not the biggest, surprise teams in college football this season. Head coach Curt Cignetti has the Hoosiers at 8-0 coming off a 31-17 win at home against Washington.
However, Indiana travels to East Lansing, where they will take on Michigan State at Spartan Stadium. Cignetti gave his thoughts on the venue where the Hoosiers will face their first real Big Ten road environment.
āIāve never played there myself, but from what I understand, theyāre right up on you,ā Cignetti told the media in Bloomington. āWeāll be ready ā if we prepare correctly.ā
Cignetti on going to Spartan Stadium: “I’ve never played there myself, but from what I understand, they’re right up on you. … We’ll be ready — if we prepare correctly.” #iufb
ā Zach Osterman (@ZachOsterman) October 28, 2024A big reason Indiana has had success this season is quarterback Kurtis Rourke, who missed the game against the Huskies due to a thumb injury. Despite missing last weekās game, Rourke is still the Big Tenās fifth-leading passer, with just under 2,000 yards through the air.Ā
This Saturdayās matchup with Michigan State will be intriguing, showing if the Hoosiers can handle a true Big Ten road crowd. Indiana has had success in their first two road tests against UCLA and Northwestern, but it will be intriguing to watch this offense handle what should be a hostile environment in East Lansing.
