SB Nation Reacts Results: Should the Saints trade for a wide receiver?
Earlier this week, we asked our readers to vote on whether they thought the New Orleans Saints should trade for a wide receiver before Tuesday trade deadline.
Just 34% of voters think the Saints should make a move before next week, which was kind of shocking considering that Rashid Shaheed is out for the year, Chris Olave missed time due to a concussion he suffered in Week 6 against the Tampa Buccaneers (his 3rd since being drafted by New Orleans in 2022). Rookie Bub Means will now miss a few weeks with a high ankle sprain, Cedrick Wilson Jr. is questionable this week with a hip injury and A.T. Perry was waived in Week 5. Yes, the Saints did sign Marquez Valdes-Scantling a couple of weeks ago, but he has yet to take the field, so that leaves the Saints dangerously thin at the position without depth.
Meanwhile, only 4% of voters think that the Saints are headed in the right direction, which is not surprising, considering that the Saints have now lost 6 games in a row, something they haven’t done in almost 20 years.
On Sunday, the Saints will face one of the few teams in worse shape than them, the 1-7 the Carolina Panthers. A win this week would definitely help lift up fan’s spirits and get these numbers trending back up.
