2. Recap of Episode 5 of Dandadan
In Dandadan Episode 5, âLike, Where Are Your Balls?â, we see Okarun and Momo navigating a surprisingly emotional and awkward day at school as they try to figure out their new friendship. Okarun is anxious about how to act around Momo, especially since sheâs popular, while heâs known as an otaku loner. Despite his worries, Momo greets him warmly at school, showing she doesnât care about their social differences. Throughout the day, both look for each other but repeatedly miss, leaving each wondering if theyâve upset the other.
During lunch, they finally meet, accidentally bump heads, and end up sharing an accidental kissâwitnessed by Momoâs friends, which leads to a flurry of embarrassment. Both Okarun and Momo awkwardly deny liking each other, though Momoâs friends suspect thereâs more between them. Later, Okarun realizes heâs still missing his âfamily jewelsâ due to Turbo Grannyâs curse, and this becomes his new concern.
After school, Momo sees Okarun with a new girl, Aira, who initially seems friendly but then looks down on him after parting ways. Jealous and protective, Momo uses her powers to drop a washbasin on Airaâs head before whisking Okarun away. On the way home, Okarun explains his missing âjewelsâ issue, and Momo takes him to her grandmother, Seiko, for help.
Seiko attempts an exorcism to remove Turbo Grannyâs lingering presence from Okarun, which involves transferring her consciousness into a cat doll. After some struggle, they succeed, but Turbo Granny warns them that killing her would leave Okarun permanently cursed. The episode ends with Turbo Granny reluctantly agreeing to an alliance, but only after admitting she lost Okarunâs missing parts during their previous fight.
3. Speculation of Episode 6 of Dandadan
Given how Episode 6 unfolds, it seems likely that Turbo Grannyâs âallianceâ with Okarun and Momo will bring more chaos than help. Since she admitted to losing Okarunâs âfamily jewelsâ in their previous battle, thereâs a good chance theyâll have to go on a wild hunt to recover themâpossibly involving other spirits or supernatural beings.
Plus, with Airaâs introduction and her apparent disdain for Okarun, she may become a future obstacle or even an unexpected ally if she gets roped into the supernatural world.
Okarun and Momoâs relationship also seems ready to deepen, with each episode pushing them closer despite the awkwardness. So, as the stakes get higher, their connection will likely become the key to dealing with Turbo Granny and whatever else is on the way.
