Jahan Dotson posts priceless reaction to his first big play since joining Eagles

Fans of the Philadelphia Eagles were fired up when the team acquired former Penn State star Jahan Dotson near the end of training camp.

They had been waiting ever since for their new No. 3 wide receiver to give them something to cheer about.

Off to a slow start to his Eagles career — recording just six catches for 35 scoreless yards total entering Week 9 of the season — Dotson made the most of his lone opportunity in Sunday’s 28-23 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

To say Dotson was relieved after the game would be an understatement.

Early in the third quarter, with star receiver A.J. Brown in the locker room nursing a knee injury, Dotson’s number was called on a Jalen Hurts deep ball down the left sideline. Working against Jaguars cornerback Tyson Campbell, Dotson was able to adjust on a back shoulder throw from Hurts and make a juggling catch for a 36-yard gain.

Dotson’s reaction to the play on social media after the game was priceless:

— Jahan Dotson (@JahanDotson) November 4, 2024Dotson’s humility has helped endear him to the fanbase. He was a hot topic prior to the season opener when he spent his first Eagles practices rocking Brent Celek’s old No. 87. Fans were so beside themselves that Dotson set the record straight by tweeting: “I hope y’all understand the number decision is out of my control … Just a guy happy to be here !”

Now, he finally has his first real catch as an Eagle wearing No. 83. Dotson has been waiting for opportunities in this loaded Eagles offense, and Sunday was a long-awaited step in the right direction.
