They wanted to feel blue, but not like this. All those celebrity endorsements and rally performances couldnât get Kamala Harris elected. The Associated Press called the race for Donald Trump early Wednesday morning as Republicans also took control of the Senate; the House remains close. Many celebs are reacting with frustration and disappointment after the decisive Republican victory. Kamala Harris is expected to concede the race on November 6. Below, find reactions from Cardi B, Christina Applegate, Jay Leno and more celebrities who were clearly hoping that America would be dumping Trump.
On The Talk, Jay Leno said that yesterday was âa great day for democracy.â He did not personally like the outcome, but he wanted to reaffirm that the election was valid and legal. âThe nice thing about this election is, it was fair. I was not a fan, but thatâs OK,â he said. âThere was no cheating; everybody said it was honest.â
Per The Mirror, Cardi shared a message of support for Harris on Instagram Live as the results kept swinging in Trumpâs favor. âIâm really sad. I swear to God Iâm really sad. No matter what, I know that sheâs probably emotional right now,â she said, later adding, âI just hope she knows no matter what happens tonight, millions of people are proud of her. Women around the world are proud of her. Women of color are proud of her.â
