Eagles vs. Cowboys: Live score updates, highlights, injury news
The Philadelphia Eagles are down in Texas to take on the Dallas Cowboys. The Birds, favored by 7.5 points (same amount they were favored against the Jacksonville Jaguars at home in Philly last weekend) on the road, are going for their fifth straight win. And their first victory at AT&T Stadium since November 19, 2017.
If all goes according to plan, the Eagles will leave Week 10 with a 7-2 record. If the Eagles can’t manage to beat a Cowboys team starting Cooper Rush in placed of an injured Dak Prescott, well, that’ll be pretty concerning as they drop to 6-3.

FIRST QUARTER
The Cowboys won the opening coin toss and elected to receive, a bit unusual with most teams preferring to defer. C.J. Gardner-Johnson absolutely lit up a Cowboys receiver after a short completion. Then Nolan Smith tackled CeeDee Lamb for a loss after a quick throw. Facing 3rd-and-8, Cooper Rush thought he had a free play (he didn’t since Josh Sweat get back onside) and Darius Slay knocked away his downfield throw. Three-and-out. Strong start for Vic Fangio’s defense, as expected.
The Eagles took over at their own 30-yard line. Facing 3rd-and-2 after a Saquon Barkley run, Jalen Hurts had plenty of time in the pocket … before taking off running into wide open field for an easy first down into Cowboys territory. Ankle looked OK! Trevon Diggs got called for illegal contact on DeVonta Smith for another Eagles first down. Hurts held the ball and got sacked in the pocket to knock the offense back. Then Fred Johnson false started. Then Hurts got sacked by a blitzing DeMarvion Overshown, who Kenny Gainwell totally failed to pick up or even remotely hinder at all, to bring up third down. Facing 3rd-and-33, the Eagles went with a coward’s draw to Gainwell. 6 plays, 15 yards, punt. Needed to do better there against a bad Cowboys defense.
The Cowboys took over at their own 20-yard line. Cooper Rush bobble the shotgun snap … and Milton Williams ripped it away from the QB on the ground for an Eagles recovery! Well, that was easy.
Milton Williams’ fumble recovery marked the first takeaway of his career. #Eagles

The Eagles took over at the plus 17-yard line. A short Barkley run and a short completion to A.J. Brown brought up third down. Facing 3rd-and-6, Hurts dumped off to Barkley and Saquon made multiple Cowboys defenders miss to get to the 1-yard line. He’s kinda good! The Eagles then went Brotherly Shove for the game’s first score! Boom. EAGLES 7, COWBOYS 0.
That was the 50th rushing TD of Jalen Hurts’ career.
He has a rush TD in 4 straight games, tying his longest streak in his career (Week 9-13 of 2023).@ESPNStatsInfo

KaVontae Turpin had a big return to allow the Cowboys to take over from their own 41-yard line. Facing 3rd-and-2 after two runs, the Eagles defense was playing way soft to allow Lamb to easily catch a short pass for a first down. CJGJ missed a chance to pick off Rush with a bad ball thrown over the middle. Facing 3rd-and-4, Rush lofted it up and Jalen Brooks caught the ball but only managed to get one foot in with Quinyon Mitchell playing very sticky coverage on the Cowboys receiver. Ho-hum, just more excellent from the Eagles’ rookie cornerback. Dallas settled for a Brandon Aubrey 46-yard field goal make. EAGLES 7, COWBOYS 3.
Johnny Wilson’s holding penalty on Will Shipley’s kick return forced the Eagles to take over at their own 23-yard line. Dallas Goedert made his first catch since Week 4 for a third first down. Hurts rolled left and then found a wide open A.J. Brown in the middle of the field for a catch-and-run to the plus 12-yard line to end the first quarter.
SECOND QUARTER
Hurts was a little late on what should’ve been a touchdown throw to Goedert but was instead an interception to Trevon Diggs. Hurts’ first pick since Week 3. Pretty bad ending to a promising drive.
That throw was wide open. Hurts made the right read, he just didn’t put enough zip on it, which allowed Diggs to make a great play and get the INT. It was similar to the throw to Brown last week where he didn’t have enough on it and it allowed the defender to make a play.

The Cowboys went three-and-out after gaining just five yards.
The Eagles took over at their own 23-yard line after Cooper DeJean slipped and got tackled by the turf monster on his punt return. Hurts made a nice back shoulder throw to Jahan Dotson (!) for a first down into plus territory. Barkley stiff-armed Overshown in the face so bad that it caused the defender to fall to the ground. Hurts held the ball forever in the pocket again and got sacked. Facing 3rd-and-17, the Eagles called a timeout with the play clock running down. Facing 3rd-and-17 for real, Hurts ran but got sacked by Micah Parsons for no gain. Or no loss.
That was the Cowboys’ 4th sack already. Jalen Hurts is holding onto the ball too long, and stopped looking down the field on a couple of them when he felt pressure.

I honestly think Hurts can’t see in the middle of the field here going that direction. That sun looks brutal.

The Cowboys took over at their own 20-yard line after Braden Mann’s punt bounced into the end zone. Zack Baun got to Ezekiel Elliott for a TFL. Facing 3rd-and-3, it looked like Slay had great coverage for a PBU but the veteran cornerback was called for pass interference. Baun, a beast, came up with another TFL. Facing 3rd-and-10, Rush’s pass was completed just short of the sticks. Facing 4th-and-1, the Cowboys went no huddle and ran their own QB sneak for a first down into plus territory. Nakobe Dean almost picked off a Rush pass that got slightly deflected by Jalyx Hunt but couldn’t make the catch. Rico Dowdle broke off a 19-yard run and the Cowboys moved into the red zone. Facing 3rd-and-2, Rush to Lamb over the middle gave the Cowboys a first down in goal-to-go. CJGJ and Baun both combined to tackle Zeke and force the ball out for a Cooper DeJean recovery in the end zone! Baun officially got credit for the FF. Pretty big stop after the Cowboys drove 76 yards.
The Eagles took over at their own 20-yard line with 3:04 left in the second quarter and two timeouts to work with. Hurts aired it out deep to DeVonta for an incompletion … which was caused by defensive holding. Hurts held the ball too long yet again and got strip-sacked by Parsons to set up an Eric Kendricks recovery. Two turnovers by Hurts in one half after he had gone four straight games without giving the ball away.
The Cowboys took over at the plus 6-yard line. Lamb missed an open touchdown catch since he was unable to see the ball with the sun in his eyes (lol). Jalen Carter tackled Dowdle for a loss and the Eagles called their second timeout at 1:51 to bring up fourth down. Facing 4th-and-goal, Mike McCarthy opted to kick the field goal instead of going for it from the 5-yard line. A gift for the Eagles. EAGLES 7, COWBOYS 6.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr.’s block in the back forced the Eagles to take over at their own 16-yard line with 1:43 left and one timeout to work with. Hurts immediately completed a pass to Brown for a first down. Hurts underthrew a downfield pass to DeVonta that the receiver couldn’t manage to catch. Facing 3th-and-5, Hurts hit Brown on the slant for a first down into Cowboys territory. Dallas helped the Eagles and called a timeout due to not having their preferred personnel on the field. Hurts took off running for 24 yards to move up just outside of the red zone. A short pass to Gainwell got the Eagles to the 14-yard line and prompted Nick Sirianni to call the team’s final timeout. Hurts sidestepped a blitzing Overshown and threw to Goedert for a touchdown! Much-needed drive by the offense. 7 plays, 84 yards, 1:25 off the clock. Nicely executed two-minute drill. EAGLES 14, COWBOYS 6.
That drive was good Jalen Hurts. He got the ball out on time. When there was pressure, he was decisive and ran. Eagles go right down the field and now lead 14-6.

The Cowboys took over at their own 30-yard line with 0:23 on the clock and two timeouts to work with. Q broke up a pass to a leaping Jalen Brooks. Then Carter deflected a Rush pass. Facing 3rd-and-10, Rush’s pass to the Cowboys’ fullback was a wormburner. The Cowboys punted with 0:09 left and the Eagles didn’t keep a returner back deep, instead trying to block the punt … unsuccessfully.
Hurts took a knee at 0:01 to end the second quarter.
THIRD QUARTER
The Eagles took over at their own 37-yard line after a nice return by Shipley, who almost broke it for longer. Barkley took a carry for a short gain on the first play from scrimmage in the second half. Hurts got knocked off of his spot by pressure and he threw the ball away. Facing 3rd-and-9, Hurts threw to a tightly-covered Brown but the ball hit a Cowboys defender’s helmet and bounced into air for what could’ve been a pick but wasn’t. Three-and-out.
The Cowboys took over at their own 11-yard line. Facing 3rd-and-8 after good back-to-back tackles by Carter and Dean, Rush completed a pass short of the sticks for one yard. The Cowboys answered the Eagles’ three-and-out with one of their own.
DeJean took his punt return 31 yards to set the Eagles’ offense up at the plus 37-yard line. The rookie clearly has juice with the ball in his hands. Two straight Barkley runs resulted in a first down. The Eagles got another first down from yet another Cowboys illegal contact penalty. Gainwell took a carry 13 yards to bring up goal-to-go from the 7-yard line. Another Gainwell run and Parsons forcing a bootlegging Hurts into a throwaway forced the offense into third down. Facing 3rd-and-goal from the 5-yard line, Hurts had a lot of time to throw … and he stepped up and delivered a strike to a crossing Johnny Wilson! Rookie wide receiver’s first NFL score. Red zone weapon! EAGLES 21, COWBOYS 6.
The Cowboys took over at their own 30-yard line. Facing 3rd-and-5, Rush’s downfield throw was well underthrown … into the back of Slay, who got beat but was bailed out by the bad pass.
The Eagles took over at their own 17-yard line. Hurts immediately aired it out from play-action to Brown, who roasted rookie Caelen Carson for a 44-yard gain. Great ball right on the money to Brown’s hands for the over-the-shoulder grab to move into Dallas territory. Overshown, one of the Cowboys’ best remaining defenders, got hurt on the play. Barkley ran through contact to put the offense in the red zone. Another Barkley run put the Eagles at 1st-and-goal from the 10-yard line. Hurts took a designed QB run and bowled over a defender to the end zone for his second rushing touchdown of the game! Blocked perfectly. 7-play, 83-yard drive that took 4:17 off the clock. Great work. EAGLES 28, COWBOYS 6.
There were snaps of 22 and 13 personnel on that drive with Jahan Dotson as the lone WR. Early signs of resting guys. Hoping to rest them all soon now.

The Cowboys took over at their own 30-yard line with Trey Lance replacing Cooper Rush at quarterback. Lance ran for four yards and then handed off but the Cowboys were called for holding. Rush re-entered the game. DeJean made a great open field tackle on Lamb for a short gain. Facing 3rd-and-9, Bryce Huff (!) strip-sacked Rush for a Baun recovery!
The Eagles took over at the plus-21 yard line. Two running plays ended the third quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
Facing 3rd-and-10,
EAGLES LINEUP NOTES
Nolan Smith started over Bryce Huff once again.
Jalyx Hunt entered the game before Huff played.
Huff’s first snap came with 13:37 remaining in the second quarter.
It looked like Darius Slay (ankle) tweaked something on the Cowboys’ first drive. He entered the medical tent. Isaiah Rodgers came in to play cornerback. Slay was ruled questionable to return. He returned to the game. Slay was replaced by Rodgers again early in the third quarter. Then he returned again.
Nolan Smith entered the medical tent early in the second quarter. He returned to the game.
Dallas Goedert entered the medical tent early in the second quarter. He returned to the game.
Saquon Barkley was getting his left forearm looked at late in the second quarter. Kenny Gainwell was the Eagles’ running back on their next drive but that was a two-minute situation, so, not totally unprecedented for him to be in for that. Barkley was back on the field for the Eagles’ first drive of the second half.
Landon Dickerson visited the medical tent midway through the third quarter. He returned on his next chance to play.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. visited the medical tent midway through the third quarter.
