Spurs star unlikely to leave club in January
Tottenham Hotspur travel to face reigning champions Manchester City when the Premier League returns later this month.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have won just five of their 11 league games so far this term, most recently falling to a 2-1 loss against Ipswich Town.
The Australian will hope to see his side improve after the international break, but City will undoubtedly provide a stern test for the Lilywhites despite their own recent poor run of form.
One player that has fallen slightly out of favour in recent weeks is midfielder James Maddison, but GiveMeSport claims that the England international isn’t likely to leave the club in January.
Maddison, 27, has played just 14 minutes across Spurs’ last two Premier League matches, being substituted on in the closing stages of each match.
The Englishman only joined Spurs from Leicester City last summer, but he has already played 45 times for the North London club across all competitions.

Maddison’s recent dip in playing time has been prompted, in part at least, but Postecoglou’s desire for his side to have more control in midfield.
Having started Tottenham’s first nine games of the Premier League campaign, the Englishman has been named on the bench for their past two games.
That has lead to the likes of Pape Matar Sarr and Rodrigo Bentancur being deployed in midfield, as opposed to the more attacking Maddison.
Maddison, who has a combined 20 goals and assists for Spurs, is contracted to the club until the end of the 2027/28 campaign.
The midfielder has captained Postecoglou’s side in the Europa League this term, and the report suggests that he remains an important part of Postecoglou’s squad and is therefore likely to stay put beyond January.
