Saints Week 11 Start/Sit
Anytime the New Orleans Saints, play the Atlanta Falcons, it’s always a rival game that must result in a win. Despite some key players on the field some fantasy points were low and some were missed. With the tough battle, the Saints pulled off a win with a surprising performance from Marquez Valdez-Scantling. Going into week 11, there can be some new opportunities for fantasy points. Let’s look at who to Sit/Start this week.
Derek Carr- Start
Derek Carr had an impressive outing in Sunday’s 20-17 win over the Falcons. He completed 16 of 25 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his deep-ball accuracy with a 40-yard TD strike to Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the second quarter. He followed up with another two-yard TD pass to Valdes-Scantling before halftime.
While the Saints’ offense slowed down in the second half to protect their lead, Carr’s early performance offered a glimmer of hope for a passing game that has been hampered by injuries to key receivers. This victory not only snapped a seven-game losing streak but also marked interim coach Darren Rizzi’s first win. As the Saints look ahead to Week 11 against the Browns, Carr will aim to build on this encouraging performance.
Alvin Kamara-Sit
Alvin Kamara had another solid outing in Sunday’s 20-17 victory over the Falcons. He rushed 17 times for 55 yards and caught five of six targets for 54 yards. While he didn’t break any significant runs, Kamara led the Saints in receptions and targets.
Over the past three games, Kamara has accumulated 277 rushing yards and 169 receiving yards. However, he hasn’t found the end zone since Week 6. As the Saints prepare to face the Browns in Week 11, Kamara will aim to break this scoring drought and continue his impressive play. After that wide open pass drop last week, my concerns of that again since he has been back from a broken hand.
Marquez Valdez Scantling- Start
In an amazing debut, Marquez Valdes-Scantling erupted in Sunday’s 20-17 win over the Falcons. He hauled in all three of his targets for a staggering 109 yards and both of the Saints’ touchdowns. His lone non-scoring reception was a jaw-dropping 67-yard gain.
This breakout performance from the newly rostered wideout came at a crucial time. With Rashid Shaheed sidelined for the season and Chris Olave’s status uncertain, Valdes-Scantling has seized the opportunity to become Derek Carr’s new go-to deep threat.
As the Saints gear up for their Week 11 matchup against the Browns, it will be fascinating to see if Valdes-Scantling can sustain this level of play and solidify his role in New Orleans’ passing game.
Taysom Hill-Start
Taysom Hill made his presence felt in Sunday’s 20-17 win over the Falcons. He rushed four times for 14 yards and caught both of his targets for 36 yards.
Since returning from a rib injury in Week 8, Hill has been a consistent contributor, seeing at least six touches in each of the last three games. During this span, he’s racked up 145 scrimmage yards and a rushing touchdown.
While Hill’s role may not be massive, he’s a reliable option for the Saints, especially in the red zone. As they prepare to face the Browns in Week 11, expect Hill to continue his steady production and potential for explosive plays.
Juwan Johnson-Sit
Juwan Johnson, the towering tight end, had a quiet day in Sunday’s 20-17 victory over the Falcons. He caught two of three targets for 22 yards, marking his fifth consecutive week with three or fewer receptions.
With key wide receivers like Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Bub Means sidelined, one might have expected Johnson to see a larger target share. However, running back Alvin Kamara led the team in targets, while newly acquired wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling exploded for a team-high 109 receiving yards.
Johnson’s production this season has been underwhelming compared to last year, with 22 catches for 247 yards and one touchdown in 10 games. He’ll aim to increase his involvement in the offense in the upcoming home game against the Browns on November 17th.
