Now, talkSPORT’s European correspondent Andy Brassell says talks have been going on between the parties for some time.
He told talkSPORT: “PSG have denied [being in talks], but sources are claiming that the two parties have been in discussions for a long time, except that this time Mohamed Salah has opened the door.
“So, of course, he could officially sign for PSG if he wanted to from January 1.

“If they get an opportunity to sign Mohamed Salah, there is no way they are turning it down. There is absolutely no way they are turning it down.
“Now, whether Mohamed Salah wants this news to leak, so he can put a bit of pressure on Liverpool, that would not surprise me.
“What an opportunity that would be for PSG.”
PSG, who currently sit top of Ligue 1, no longer boast France international Kylian Mbappe after his move to Real Madrid in the summer.
And while Salah may be turning 33 next June, he still serves as an exciting prospect if he arrives on a free at the end of the campaign.

Liverpool rejected an enormous £150million bid for the winger from Al Ittihad in September 2023. Al Hilal were also keen at the time.
