Lexi Rodriguez Joins Legendary USA Volleyball Libero Days After Surpassing Her Record

Nebraska Huskers alum Lexi Rodriguez may not have won the NCAA national title. However, she established herself as the benchmark for all future liberos who join the squad. When the 5ā€™6 defensive specialist joined Big Red she had the monumental task of matching the legacy of Olympian and former NU volleyball star Justine Wong-Orantes.

However, not only did the libero match the Olympianā€™s legacy, she surpassed it. After sourcing 15 digs in what would become the last volleyball game of her college career, Rodriguez smashed Wong-Orantesā€™ school record of 1,890 digs. However, as fate would have it, shortly after breaking the record, the payer with 1,897 digs would join the Olympian.
