‘Sickening stuff’… Conor McGregor breaks his silence after Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Irish MMA rant

Conor McGregor launched a seemingly random foul-mouthed tirade on social media just after Khabib Nurmagomedov’s rant about Irish MMA.

The undefeated former UFC lightweight champion was promoting his cousin Usman Nurmagomedov’s Bellator title fight with Paul Hughes later this month when he shredded Irish MMA in general. He claimed that aside from exceptions including McGregor and Hughes, the nation has not produced many stars.

In contrast, he reckons, Dagestan is pumping out top fighters at such a rate that top promotions are worried about signing prospects for fear of being completely taken over by their fighters. And whether McGregor saw this outburst or night, he is not happy this evening.

But the 29-0 UFC legend insists that there is no rivalry between the countries as he believes his nation is far superior when it comes to MMA.

“Brother, Ireland don’t have fighters, brother,” Khabib Nurmagomedov said in an interview with the PFL’s social channel. “Let’s be honest. How many fighters do you know from Ireland? Paul Hughes and Conor [McGregor]. And who else? There is no fighters, brother.

“You come Dagestan, you can understand. You know, so many organizations, they don’t even sign Dagestan fighters because they worry about like, everybody can become champion. Let’s be honest: Dagestan level of MMA here (raises arm high). But Ireland level, like not even half of Dagestan level.”

The Irishman appeared to tear into an unknown enemy in a series of aggressive tweets, just hours after Nurmagomedov.

Seemingly apropos of nothing, he wrote: “And all yous a*** lickers around the way years stood on no ground for your own. Sickening stuff, look at yous now. You deserve exactly what’s there for yous, not a thing.
