Jalen Hurts is returning to practice ahead of Eagles vs. Packers

Jalen Hurts is set to participate in the Philadelphia Eaglesā€™ practice on Wednesday for the first time since suffering a concussion in Week 16.

Jeff McLane was first to report the news:

Jalen Hurts is slated to be at #Eagles practice today, sources said. A notable step forward as the QB works his way out of concussion protocol and prepares to start in Sundayā€™s first round playoff game vs. the Packers.

Nick Sirianni then confirmed as much in his noon press conference. Hereā€™s a recap of all the Hurts-related questions he faced.

Q: Will Jalen be at practice?

SIRIANNI: ā€œYeah, heā€™ll be out there today. Weā€™ll get you the injury report after practice, weā€™ll see how it goes.ā€

Q: Are you worried about rust?

SIRIANNI: ā€œNo. I think I answered this to somebody, I canā€™t remember who, earlier this week. This is why you practice. This is why you go through the process of practicing and all the things that you do at practice to get on the same page and do everything there. We feel like we practice at a very high intensity level. This is why you go out there and do those things.ā€

Q: Has the two weeks off also given his broken finger a chance to heal?

ā€œYeah, heā€™s continuing to get better.ā€

Q: This time away, have you given him any kind of project to look forward to with a future opponent?

ā€œHeā€™s always working on different things and getting himself ready to play the opponent and self-scouting things. He constantly works at that.ā€

Q: Are there any restrictions on Jalen today?

ā€œWeā€™ll give you a practice report when you get out there.ā€

The guess here is that Hurts will officially be listed under ā€œlimited participation.ā€ This is not any cause to be concerned; him being limited is an expected step in clearing the concussion protocol. Assuming no setbacks, Hurts will likely be upgraded to ā€œfull participationā€ on Thursday.

Weā€™ll see for sure when the Eagles issue their practice report later today.

For now, itā€™s good to know that Hurts will be participating in some capacity. All signs continue to point to him being available for the Eaglesā€™ Wild Card playoff game against the Green Bay Packers.
