Patriots QB Drake Maye Nearing First Ring, Announces Engagement to Ann Michael Hudson
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is close to getting a ring. The hiring of Mike Vrabel as his new head coach has nothing to do with it.
The former North Carolina Tar Heel announced on social media Wednesday he got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Ann Michael Hudson.

Drake Maye Makes Engaging Announcement on Social Media
Maye, 22, and Hudson, 21, have been dating for almost a decade. They announced their engagement on Instagram.
âLove doing life with you. Canât wait to marry you!â Maye wrote.
The Patriots posted a comment on the Instagram posting along with photos of the couple and said, âCongratulations Drake Maye and Ann Michael Hudson!!â
The couple started dating in high school and their relationship has gotten better as they grew older.
In celebration of their ninth anniversary together, Hudson took to her Instagram to upload three pictures of them over the years.
â9 years with you and it keeps getting better every day. I couldnât imagine my life without you as my best friend. I love you more than you know!â she captioned her post. Hudson shared her excitement earlier when the Patriots named the No. 3 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft the starter.
Maye finished the season as the starting quarterback, making his first NFL start Oct. 13 against the Houston Texans. The Patriots finished the season with a 4-13 record.
Vrabel described Maye as a âyoung, dynamic quarterbackâ earlier on ESPN SportsCenter this week. âThereâs arm talent. Thereâs athleticism,â Vrabel said. âCertainly, we have to be great around him and weâre going to continue to push him as much as he lets us.â

Maye and Hudson have been together since the former was quarterbacking for the Hough Huskies in high school. Hudson supported Maye on Friday nights then and had to pivot her support to Saturday afternoons when he started playing ball for the Tar Heels.
The couple attended UNC together. Hudson is still working towards her degree with a double major in entrepreneurship and conflict management.
Hudson probably canât match Mayeâs athleticism, but her LinkedIn page is a testament to the fact that sheâs also been hard at work at UNC.
Hudson has accumulated impressive experience during her time on campus. She interned as a strategy consultant for Piedmont Pennies, a North Carolina-based snack foods startup. She also serves as the vice president of finance for her sorority, Kappa Delta.
Hudson shared on her page just a few months ago that sheâd recently accepted the opportunity to join Deloitte Consultingâs upcoming summer scholar program.
It often seems like successful people are drawn to one another. With that in mind, itâs not all too surprising that Hudson and Maye wound up together.
