Saints reschedule in-person head coaching interviews due to some unprecedented weather

I bet the New Orleans Saints head coach search being delayed to a snow day wasn’t on your 2025 bingo card. But alas here we are as the Saints have postponed interviews with head coaching candidates Aaron Gleen and Mike Kafka due to unprecedented snow in New Orleans, per Tom Peliserro.

Due to severe weather, the #Saints are rescheduling this week’s round of in-person interviews for their head coaching job. Mike Kafka was supposed to be today, with Aaron Glenn and Anthony Weaver scheduled for Wednesday; interviews are now expected to resume later in the week.

Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn is interviewing with the New York Jets on Tuesday and was scheduled to visit New Orleans on Wednesday if he were to leave unsigned by the Jets. New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka was supposed to fly in to interview on Tuesday. Both candidates have been rescheduled for later in the week.

Snow is extremely rare in New Orleans and the city just doesn’t have the resources to combat the weather. Due to the lack of resources, many streets and bridges have been closed off due to the icy roads.

Unfortunately for the Saints, these snow days could have a real effect on their chances at their head coaching candidates, especially Aaron Glenn. A delay in interviews could have other teams pursue their candidates or win them over before New Orleans gets the chance.
