Shiloh Fernandez (“Evil Dead,” “The Old Way”) and Rafi Gavron (“A Star Is Born,” “Godfather of Harlem”) have joined the ensemble cast of Christopher Nolan’s Greek mythological epic “The Odyssey”.

The two actors join an ever expanding cast that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Elliot Page, Jon Bernthal, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Samantha Morton, Bill Irwin, Jesse Garcia and Will Yun Lee.

The feature is an adaptation of Homer’s epic 8th century BCE Greek poem that recounts the ten-year journey of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, as he travels home after the Trojan War.

He and his crew encounter many perils, including massive monsters, lethal sirens, a sorceress and the vengeful god of the sea. Meanwhile, Odysseus’s wife and grown son must contend with aggressive suitors that have designs on the throne.

The project will shoot throughout the first half of this year in Sicily, the UK and Morocco using brand-new IMAX film technology ahead of a planned July 17th 2026 release.

Gavron will shortly star opposite Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson in sci-fi thriller “Mercy”.
