‘Tides Of Annihilation’ Accidentally Goes Live On Xbox Without A Release Date
Hold your horses, Microsoft

There were loads of highlights from an Xbox perspective at the PlayStation State of Play event the other day, and one of them was Tides of Annihilation – an upcoming fantasy action-adventure game that looked stunning in its trailer.
Well, a bunch of Xbox fans thought Christmas had come early today when Tides of Annihilation suddenly appeared on the Microsoft Store as available to buy for just $22.49! And no, this was not just a pre-order.
This inevitably led to a lot of purchases, after which players discovered that it was only a 300MB placeholder file that wouldn’t actually load up – it just pushed them back to the Microsoft Store. A wasted buy in the end.
It’s obviously still not an ideal situation for Microsoft, especially considering the company will now have to refund everyone who hit the “Buy” button earlier today. The press can’t be bad for Tides of Annihilation though, which continues to rack up interest – you can watch an extended gameplay walkthrough for the game down below.
