How Sophia Bush is Supporting Partner Ashlyn Harris’ New Career
Ashlyn Harris is scoring new goals with a little help from Sophia Bush.
Following her retirement from professional soccer in 2022, the athlete is tackling a new project with the launch of her iHeart Women’s Sports podcast Wide Open with Ashlyn Harris—and she’s got her partner of more than a year firmly in her corner as she kicks off the new endeavor.
“She supports me so much,” Ashlyn told E! News of the One Tree Hill alum in an exclusive interview. “She has done podcasting and been in the entertainment space for so long, and she has continued to encourage me to be a little more forward-facing after my soccer career ended.”
And the two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champ—who split from ex-wife Ali Krieger in September 2023 before being romantically linked to Sophia the following month—intends to record a sit-down with the Chicago P.D. actress sometime in the future.
“I think Sophia will for sure be on the show,” Ashlyn teased. “I think that will be something we do when the time is right.”
Fortunately for the soccer star, she’s had lots of support from her inner circle while launching the show, which drops new episodes every Monday.
“I’ve really had a great deal of support with the people that love me the most to encourage me to continue doing this,” she went on, “and I’m grateful for that, because it has really been such a beautiful journey through such a hard season of divorce and retirement.”

As for Sophia—who settled her divorce from ex-husband Grant Hughes in December—she previously shared how much she’s loving life thanks to her own support system, including Ashlyn.
“It was a journey to get here but I’m happier than ever and that is something I cherish,” she told E! News in April 2024. “I think one of the reasons for that is all of the incredible women in my life.”
