Best football bets for MondayBet of the Day – Livingston to beat St Johnstone @ 6/4

Scottish Championship side Livingston host Premiership St Johnstone at Almondvale in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup on Monday night and the second-tier side look the bet to progress.

David Martindale’s side are chasing down a return to the top flight this season, while the Saints could be heading for the Championship.

Livi are unbeaten in their last 11 matches and they got the better of top-flight Ross County in the fourth-round of the Scottish Cup, a trick they could repeat against St Johnstone.

The Saints have won only four of 18 all-competition away games this term and Simo Valakari’s priority will be getting the Perth side off the bottom of the Scottish Premiership table.

Longshot of the Day – West Ham to beat Newcastle 2-0 @ 15/1

Graham Potter’s reign at West Ham kicked into gear with a 1-0 success over Arsenal and the Hammers followed up by beating Leicester 2-0 last time out.

The Irons host Newcastle at the London Stadium on Monday night and the east Londoners can make it three Premier League wins on the bounce.

Newcastle have won only four of their last nine matches and two of those victories were against struggling Southampton and League One Birmingham in the FA Cup.

The Magpies were beaten 2-0 by the Hammers at St James’ Park in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and there won’t be many happy memories for Eddie Howe’s men.

West Ham would have hoped for more than this season has produced, but they have lost only four of their last 11 home matches and they could repeat their result from St James’ Park earlier in the season by winning this one 2-0.

Special of the Day – Over 2.5 goals in Espanyol v Girona @ 6/5

Girona haven’t reached the heights of last season and that’s no real surprise given key players Aleix Garcia and Artem Dovbyk were poached in the summer.

The White and Reds are closer to a relegation battle than a top-four position this term, but they can at least serve-up an entertaining contest with Espanyol.

There have been 73 goals in Girona’s 26 La Liga matches this season and Míchel’s men will continue to go on the front foot.

Espanyol have been a little more circumspect in their approach, but the Parakeets have found the net in two games against Real Madrid, and when taking on Barcelona this term, so Manolo Gonzalez’s men can contribute to a high-scoring clash.
