Big Sean Shares Rare Look at Bond With His & Jhene Aiko’s Son Noah

Jhene Aiko & Big Sean Welcome Baby Boy, First Child Together

Big Sean is doing fatherhood real big.

When it comes to being a first-time dad, the rapper, who shares 2-year-old Noah with partner Jhene Aiko, has embraced all the happy surprises the journey has entailed.

“It’s my first time being a parent, a dad,” the 36-year-old said on The Jennifer Hudson Show March 13. “I didn’t know what I was in for.”

“He’s amazing. I’m in love with my son I can’t even lie,” Big Sean (real name Sean Michael Leonard Anderson) gushed. “Everything about him is just incredible.”

And Noah is already pulling the best qualities from his family members. Especially his grandfather, James Anderson, and his mother Jhene—who is also the mom to Namiko, 16, from a previous relationship.

“He has the charm of my dad and the spirit of his mom,” the “Beautiful Scars” rapper said. “He’s just the best of all of us put together. I realized when you have a child, they’re a culmination of all of your family members. and you realize that all that DNA, it’s like a computer. It’s like all that information is in them.”

And yes, with two musical parents, Noah is already on the right track when it comes to following in their footsteps.

“He picks up that mic and he has a beautiful voice like his mom,” Sean said. “He has range and everything. He’s definitely very vocal. He talks. He’s very expressive and very smart.”

The Go Higher author has been open with his and Jhene’s journey to parenthood. In 2020, the rapper revealed the pair—who have been linked since 2016—suffered a miscarriage. Though he did not share the timeline, Sean spoke about how the loss offered perspective through the pain.

“I don’t want people to think that because they have a miscarriage that they’re inadequate or that they’re broke,” the Sean said on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast in January. “I think that this life is complex, and there are things we do and don’t understand, and I think there’s beauty in everything that’s meant for you.”

“You may get blessed with a child later on. You may get blessed with a child that comes into your life a different way,” the rapper explained. “Sometimes we get so set on a goal, we don’t keep the rest of our doors open, of how the universe could bless us in that way, to not only fill that void, but even make it even greater.”
