Rihanna Is a Master of High-Low Dressing

Nothing is off limits—and she has the impressive ability to pull off even the most unexpected of pairings.

Case in point: Last night (March 16), Rihanna was spotted at Rolling Loud in L.A. wearing a contrasting combo. The star wore a sporty oversized nylon bomber coat with a high-slit lace skirt, combining elements of day and evening wear. As usual, she was also sure to finish off the look with tons of diamonds—including a shimmering necklace, and even a subtle anklet, too. The regular person’s first instincts wouldn’t be to pair a utilitarian jacket with a dainty and sheer skirt, but Rihanna proves that—sometimes—opposites attract.

It’s not the first time she has taken such a clashing approach. On past outings, Rih has also stepped out in looks that paired fanciful fur coats with low-slung jeans and sneakers. Her one-of-a-kind wardrobe makes the case for going into your closet and mashing up the most unlikeliest items together. We get it: Who wants to look too perfect and on-theme for an occasion?
