33 Attempts on Listening
Acoustic installations are not just about hearing; they extend energy throughout a space. Improvised creations reawaken the latent energy of a place, reinventing everyday objects and rediscovering bodily awareness. In this exhibition, natural vibrations manifest in various forms: the daily clinks of a cobbler’s work, the soft patter of rain in the Lingnan region, the ebb and flow of seashells in the ocean, or the fluttering cries of birds. These natural sounds are stored in everyday materials like cans, waiting for performers to release them in future performances. The sounds continuously echo in physical space, documenting the body’s experiments and dialogues with the unknown, reconstructing our connection to the world around us.

Trendy Art Season
When the glass windows collect beads of moisture and the floor reveals dark, wet patterns, the humid air of spring knocks on the doors of the southern lands. This unique subtropical climate ritual is both a breath of nature and a return of memories—within the folds of water vapor, the liquid narrative of the city and body intertwines. Three artists use diverse mediums to weave the sensory network of humidity, collectively creating a “Rainy Season” climate archive, where the corners collect mold, the glass breathes, and the folds of clothes hold salt, preserving all the quietly expanding memory spores in the humidity.

As a pivotal figure in China’s modern artistic transformation, Xu Beihong’s artistic practice consistently embodied an academic logic of ‘reaching breadth while achieving precision.’ From epic thematic creation to allegorical image reconstruction, from innovation in brush and ink language to breakthrough in artistic conception, he pioneered a modern grammatical system fusing Chinese and Western art. The exhibition examines three historical segments of Xu Beihong’s life. Through an intertextual narrative combining 73 representative works and extensive documentation, it deeply decodes the contemporary generative mechanism of his ‘saving the nation through art’ ideology and ‘realism’ methodology.

Zishi Han: Echoes from the Gaps of Walls
The exhibition draws inspiration from the museum’s unique architecture, reimagining the space as a narrative vessel that contrasts domestic intimacy with public exposure. It explores subtle sound-related narratives from Qian Xuesen’s U.S. house arrest during the early Cold War. It unfolds into two subplots—one drawn from 19th-century entomological research and the other from the Nüwa creation myth—while situating cybernetics within a broader framework to examine tensions between surveillance, confinement, and resilience. Based in Frankfurt am Main, Han employs installation, sculpture, video, and performance to examine power structures and their psychological effects.
