It’s considered one of the best courses around and here’s a breakdown of the price of membership and who can play there.

How much is a membership at Augusta? The initial cost of a membership at Augusta National Golf Club is understood to range from $40,000 to $200,000.

That is the joining fee for the club, while members will also pay annual dues that are suggested to be upwards of $10,000.

Applications to the club are not accepted and it is strictly invite-only, with the selection criteria not made available for the public to see.

The public is not allowed to play on the course – only members and guests are allowed.

However, media members covering the Masters each year can enter a ballot to play the course on the Monday following the tournament.

Augusta’s season runs from October to May, with members, guests and course caddies all able to play until the closing date.

On top of being able to play on the course and use the state-of-the-art facilities, they are also given a green jacket themselves.

However, they do have to pay a fee for that honour.

Members cannot take the green jacket off Augusta premises, which is something that all Masters winners are also not permitted to do.

Instead, they have to keep it in the club’s locker room.

Members can play in those events while they also have admittance to The Masters each year and every other tournament at the course.

Augusta was reported in 2023 to earn $25million-a-year from broadcast rights as well as an estimated $50m-a-year from merchandise sales.

The earnings from club memberships are kept well under wraps by bosses.
