Now that the Adidas Samba has loosened its grip on the fashion set, a whole new array of trending sneakers have emerged–from the Onitsuka Tiger to the Puma Speedcat. One thing these sneakers all have in common? They’re available in an array of colors, allowing wearers to match their footwear to their mood, or indeed, their outfit.

Unique, colorful sneakers offer a more subtle take on dopamine dressing, and certainly an antidote to the neutral tones that have come with the craze for quiet luxury.

Red sneakersThe “pop of red” styling trick shows no signs of going anywhere – with a pair of red sneakers being one of the easiest ways to buy into the trend. Popular styles at the moment include the slim-line Puma Speedcats, as seen on Emily Ratajkowski, and the Adidas Gazelles.

Yellow SneakersYellow sneakers have been popular among the street-style set for several seasons now–in large part, thanks to the ubiquity of the Onitsuka Tiger, as famously seen on Uma Thurman in Kill Bill.

Orange SneakersFor a slightly less obvious choice, consider orange–the perfect zingy color for the summer months. Pair with a simple tank top and jeans, and let your sneakers do all the talking.

Pink SneakersPink sneakers have been spotted around the Vogue office in recent months–from pink and orange Adidas Tokyos to pink and red Nike Cortez. Contrast with sporty silhouettes and darker tones if you don’t want to go full balletcore.

Blue SneakersFor those who are slightly less daring, dip your toe into the coloured trainer trend with a baby-blue pair. Add a tracksuit for a model off-duty look, or follow Gigi Hadid’s lead and adopt the sandwich method.
