Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill trade rumors given major update amid ‘discipline problem’ after NFL Draft

Tyreek Hill has two years remaining on his three-year, $90 million contract with the Dolphins.

If Miami wants to trade him, it’ll be a tough deal to move.

Besides, the Dolphins are looking at a healthy Tua Tagovailoa, for now, and probably want to maximize that. NFL.com columnist Judy Battista doesn’t expect them to trade Hill.

Here’s how she explains it:

“The Dolphins seem like they will stick with Hill, even after his apparent public wavering on wanting to stay and his recent involvement in a domestic dispute. But by Mike McDaniel’s own admission, the Dolphins had a discipline problem last season. Until they get a handle on that, it will feel like this team is treading water.”

Hill has been predicted to land in all sorts of places this offseason, including his former Chiefs.

But as Battista writes, the Dolphins’ comments have mostly suggested Hill will stay.

They said they’d need two first-round picks to move him, which is a price no team in the NFL will be paying.

Given that, Miami is best off trying to get the best version of Hill on the field as often as possible. The Dolphins have the Hill and Jaylen Waddle combination, one that remains dangerous for opposing defenses.

The AFC East is tough, with Buffalo at the top and New England on the rise. But Miami has a good enough roster to pursue a playoff spot.

If they do indeed keep Hill around, that’ll very much help their chances, as long as they can get over that McDaniel-admitted “discipline problem.”
